The Ministry of Finance is maintaining its economic growth outlook for 2023 at 3.8%, helped by a rebound in tourism and domestic demand, but exports are still expected to slow down this year.

Pornchai Thiraveja, head of the ministry’s fiscal policy office, told a briefing that the Thai economy likely expanded 3.0% in 2022, down from a previous forecast of 3.4%, as exports, public investment and private consumption slowed.

Official gross domestic product (GDP) figures for 2022 are due to be released next month. In 2021, GDP grew 1.5%, among the lowest rates in the region.

Pornchai also noted that the tourism sector has been picking up steadily as the world relaxes international travel measures.

Tourism rebond

The tourism sector started rebounding last year with 11.15 million foreign tourist arrivals.

Since the new year began, Thailand has booked 1.34 million foreign tourists.

Pornchai added that the kingdom is expected to receive 27.5 million foreign arrivals this year, up from 21.5 million projected earlier, helped by China’s reopening.

5 million Chinese visitors this year

The government is projecting at least 5 million Chinese visitors this year, about half of the figure in pre-pandemic 2019.

Overall foreign tourist arrivals reached a record of nearly 40 million in 2019, with spending at 1.91 trillion baht (US$58.07 billion). Tourism accounted for about 12% of GDP.

Exports to grow only 0.4%

However, exports – another key driver of growth – could increase just 0.4% this year, rather than rise 2.5% as projected earlier due to a global slowdown.

The ministry meanwhile predicts the baht to average 32.5 per dollar this year after 35.07 last year, as Thailand is among the countries expected to see a continued economic recovery.

Headline inflation expected at 2.8%

Pornchai said average headline inflation is expected at 2.8% this year, down from a 24-year high of 6.08% last year, which was far above the Bank of Thailand’s target range of 1% to 3%.

In a world where the pace of change is constantly accelerating, it can be challenging to keep up. The business landscape is no exception, as new technologies, shifting consumer preferences, and economic fluctuations can make it challenging to stay relevant and competitive. For small businesses to scale can be even more daunting, as limited resources, lack of visibility, and fierce competition make it difficult to make a significant impact.

But despite these challenges, there is hope. With the right strategies and mindset, even the smallest businesses can rise to the top and achieve great success. Today, we’ll explore some critical factors that can help make a difference. Here detailed are some of the tips that can help you scale your small business effectively.

Seven Tips for Scaling a Small Business

1. Focus on Lifelong Learning

Small business owners constantly face new challenges and opportunities as they strive to grow. In today’s fast-paced era, it’s more important than ever for small business owners to stay current on the latest trends and best practices; hence, continuously learning and upgrading skills can help you to thrive.

As the business landscape evolves, you must stay current on the latest trends and best practices. You can gain a competitive edge by continuously learning and acquiring new skills and staying ahead of the curve. For instance, pursuing an MBA degree can help you advance your knowledge and develop skills vital for your small business’s growth.

Since there are many reputed universities offering online degree programs, you can easily pursue an online executive MBA degree while working full-time. Enrolling in an online program provides flexibility to balance your professional commitments and study schedule. Pursuing an advanced degree can help polish your strategic thinking and leadership skills, which are needed to take your business to the next level.

2. Leverage Technology

Leveraging technology can be a game-changer for small business owners. You can automate repetitive tasks, streamline operations, and improve efficiency with the right tools and systems. It can free up time and resources that can be better used to focus on growth and scaling the business. One key area where technology can make a significant impact is customer engagement. Technology in this area can help you personalize your marketing strategies, improve customer retention, and increase sales.

Apart from that, technology can help you gain a better understanding of your finances. Using the right tools and technology, you can make informed decisions and cut costs where required. It can also help you to reach a wider audience and connect with customers around the globe. Also, by embracing technology, you can free up time and resources to focus on growth, increase your reach and engage potential and existing customers.

3. Monitor and Improve Business Operations

Monitoring and improving business operations are critical for every business, especially the small ones looking for growth opportunities. By keeping a close eye on their operations, you can identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. It will then help you to streamline your processes and effectively utilize resources. One effective way to monitor operations is establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly tracking progress.

Moreover, by creating a culture of continuous improvement, you can empower your employees to provide feedback and suggestions for how to improve the business, which can foster a sense of ownership and engagement among them.

Small Business

4. Hire and Retain Top Talent

Hiring and retaining top talent is essential for small businesses. By onboarding the right people, you can improve your operations, drive growth, and position yourself for long-term success.

The foundation for attracting and hiring top talent starts with developing a strong employer brand and creating a positive work culture. Communicating the company’s mission and values, promoting a positive company reputation, and highlighting opportunities for growth and development are all critical elements for attracting the right talent for your business.

Retaining top talent is equally important. Regularly gathering feedback from employees and acting on it can also be a powerful tool for retaining top talent. Another way is to provide opportunities for growth and development along with time-to-time training. Moreover, fostering employees’ engagement and ownership is a great way to improve retention.

5. Implement Effective Marketing Strategies

Marketing is a critical aspect of any business and is essential for small businesses to grow. Effective marketing can help your business stand out, attract new customers, increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales.

There are many ways to go about implementing effective marketing strategies. One approach is to focus on digital marketing, which includes creating a strong social media presence, running targeted advertising campaigns, and producing high-quality content that attracts potential customers. Email and influencer marketing are powerful tools to reach potential customers and drive sales.

6. Collaborate with Other Businesses

Identify and reach out to businesses that offer complementary products or services. Collaborating with other businesses is a powerful way to scale your business, reach potential customers and create brand awareness. Being a small business owner, you can expand your reach and access new markets by partnering with companies with a strong presence in the target market. For instance, if you are a small firm specializing in natural skincare products, you can partner with a salon with a large customer base.

Another way small businesses can establish partnerships is by collaborating with other businesses to co-create content, events, or products. By partnering with them, you can access new resources, expand your customer base and reach, increase awareness about your products or services, and gain a competitive edge in the market.

7. Connect with Customers

Small business owners should actively connect with their customers by understanding their preferences and needs. Also, you should identify what they want, where they spend their time, and how your product or service can meet their demands. Instead of waiting for customers to find your brand, you should proactively establish connections and build long-term relationships with them.

Bottom Line

Being a small business owner, you must focus on your company’s growth to thrive in today’s cut-throat business landscape. It requires strategic planning, effective marketing, and adapting to changing market conditions. However, it’s essential to remember that the road to growth is not a one-size-fits-all, and what works for someone else may not work for you. Following the above-discussed tips, you can establish a strong foundation for long-term success.

Last week Audi pulled the wraps off its latest concept, the Activesphere concept, which is the automaker’s latest “sphere” concept. We don’t know if the Activesphere is a preview of something we’ll eventually see enter production, but we do have confirmation that one of the earlier concepts is a preview of the next-generation A8.

Audi Grandsphere concept

Autocar spoke to design chief, Marc Lichte during the debut of the Activesphere concept, where he provided some hints about what we can expect from the 2024 A8. In September 2021, Audi unveiled the sleek Grandsphere concept, which we now have confirmation that the next A8 will be inspired by it. “The Grandsphere is a very concrete teaser. It’s not far away from what will become production. It’s not 1:1 but very close,” Lichte stated.

Audi GrandSphere concept

The Grandsphere concept is part of the “sphere” concept family that includes the Activesphere, Skysphere and Urbansphere. But according to Audi, the Grandsphere is the closest to a future production vehicle. The Grandsphere concept is based on the new PPE electric car platform that Audi co-developed with Porsche. The Macan EV will be the first Porsche to use the new platform.

Travel to Edinburgh, Scotland (Podcast)

Hear about fun things to do in Edinburgh, Scotland as the Amateur Traveler talks to Dan from the Zipping Around the World podcast about his recent trip to the capital of Scotland.

In answer to the question of why someone should go to Edinburgh, Dan says, “The history. If you like a little whiskey, if you like, just greenery, it’s just a wonderful place to go. The people are wonderful English-speaking, so it’s easy for a lot of people to cast their net first. So all those things encompass why you’d want to go to Scotland.”

Dan starts us on the rather touristy Royal Mile that runs from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. Yes, it has a lot of whiskey and tourist shops but it also has a lot of history. We stop at an old merchant’s house turned museum at Gladstone’s Land.

We hear about a deacon by day and robber by night who may have influenced the creation of the “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and a faithful Scot terrier revered in the city.

We learn about Scottish history at the National Museum of Scotland and the Museum of Edinburgh. Visit St Giles Cathedral which will turn 900 years old in 2024. It was founded by King David the 1st.

We learn about some of Edinburgh’s famous residents who have monuments in the city like Adam Smith the father of economics, John Knox the founder of the Scottish Presbyterian church, and Robert Burns the poet.

At the end of the Royal Mile, you will find the modern Scottish Parliament Building and Holyrood Palace the home of Scottish royal history.

On the next day, Dan takes us up to Edinburgh Castle. If you come in August you might try and get tickets for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo an annual performance of international military bands. You could spend a good part of the day just at the castle if you went to all the different museums. There are museums for various regiments, a museum for prisoners of war who were held in the castle, as well as the National War Museum.

See the giant Mons Meg canon or plug your ears if you are there when they fire off the modern canon that is the 1 o’clock gun. The castle also has a palace in it and a chapel that dates back to King David 1st from 1130.

When you come down from the castle, take a stroll in the Princes Street Gardens. But when are ready for another hike with a view, Dan talks about hikes to Salisbury Crags and Arthur’s Seat
or the monuments on Calton Hill like the Nelson Monument and the National Monument. Speaking of monuments you can climb the 287 steps to the top of the Scott Monument dedicated to author Sir Walter Scott.

Dan recommends day trips to Glasgow or St Andrews from Edinburgh and also recommends a trip to see the Stirling Castle and the monument to William Wallace of Braveheart and the Battle of Stirling Bridge fame.

There is much more to see in Scotland, but the beautiful city of Edinburgh is a great introduction to Scotland.

Divorce has often been a social taboo in Indian culture, especially in the middle class. However, we all agree that sometimes it is just better to separate than to go on living together with a partner with whom it is not working out. In fact, the Hindu Marriage Act has been in effect since 1955, to provide a sound legal framework for the dissolution of marriages. Now, divorces can be a hassle, not to mention expensive. That is why we suggest going for a reputed law firm like Lex Solution so that you can understand the law and not have to worry about unprofessional lawyers trying to rip you off.

There are two types of divorce petitions in India according to section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. These are divorce with mutual consent and contested divorce.

Divorce With Mutual Consent

When both partners are in agreement that their marriage can no longer last, they can file for a mutual consent divorce. Under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, either partner, as long as they belong to the Hindu, Sikh, Jain, or Buddhist community, can obtain a divorce based on mutual consent.

Conditions for Filing a Mutual Consent Divorce

There are a few conditions that need to be met before filing a divorce based on mutual consent in India:

  • The partners have to live separately for at least 1 year or more
  • They have been unable to live together
  • They should mutually agree that their marriage is unsaveable and should be dissolved

Legal Proceedings

To file for an uncontested divorce in India, The couple must file a petition in the family court of the location they last lived together as a couple. The court after hearing the petitions of both parties, records, and their statements and adjourns for a period of 6 months.

These 6 months are given to the parties as the last chance to settle their differences so as to not make any hasty decisions. After 6 months, if both the husband and wife still stick to their decision to separate, the court confirms their statements. In the second hearing, after the court examines all evidence and statements provided to it, it will grant a divorce to the parties.

The matter of child custody, alimony, maintenance, and distribution of the property or assets should be mutually agreed upon in an uncontested divorce. Child custody can be shared or joint depending upon the mutual agreement and understanding of the couple. There is no minimum or maximum limit too when it comes to supporting (alimony or maintenance). Some mutual consent divorce proceedings can take up to 18 months, depending on the court’s decision.

Divorce

Contested Divorce

Contested divorces are more common and the messier of divorce types in India. This type of divorce can also be filed by either the husband or the wife. The contested divorce rules in India as mentioned in Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 are:

  • Adultery – Either of the partners has had voluntary sexual intercourse with a person other than his or her spouse.
  • Cruelty – Has treated their spouse with cruelty i.e., has been abusive.
  • Desertion – Has deserted or has been willfully neglecting their partner, without their consent or against their wishes, for a period of at least two years before the petition has been presented in court.
  • Conversion – Has converted to any other religion.
  • Mental Disorder – Has been suffering from mental illness, arrested development, schizophrenia, or any other psychological disorder that makes them unusually aggressive or unable to function reasonably and requires medical care.
  • Venereal Disease  – Has been suffering from any kind of venereal disease that is communicable (includes Leprosy too).
  • Non-resumption of cohabitation – There has been no resumption of cohabitation for a period of 1 year or more after filing for a judicial separation.
  • Non-restitution of conjugal rights – Cohabitation has not been restored even after a judicial decree has been passed in a previous proceeding or has wilfully refused to consummate the marriage.
  • Presumed Dead – Whereabouts of either spouse have been unknown for over 7 years.
  • Renouncement – Has renounced the worldly life and affairs after entering a religious sect, cult, or order.

Special Provisions for a Wife

There are some special provisions under which a wife may be eligible to file for a contested divorce under 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. These are:

  • In case the husband has or had another wife before marriage with the aggrieved party. Or in case he married after the commencement of their marriage.
  • In case the husband has been guilty of rape, sodomy, or bestiality since their marriage.
  • In case the husband has failed to comply with a maintenance order since they have been living separately and cohabitation has not resumed within a period of 1 year or more.
  • In case the marriage was solemnized before the wife was of legal age.

A divorce can be filed on any of the above grounds. However, it is important to note that either of the two divorce types in India needs corresponding evidence to be submitted to the court proving the validity of the reason for filing the divorce petition. It may take time to be clear to an average person how to confirm any or some of the more sensible reasons for filing a claim. Here is where they should take the assistance of reputed law firms like Lexsolution, so that they can be guided through the process of filing for a divorce claim, without much hassle. These firms can help with post-divorce proceedings too, like the matter of alimony, child custody, and division of assets – movable or otherwise.

Conclusion

To deal with different types of divorce in India, LEX Solutions has the best team of lawyers that are aware of each and every aspect of divorce. Their team is highly skilled and experienced in the divorce domain of law. So if you need to get a fast divorce or settlement, you should immediately contact them and book an appointment right now.

Amazon is a popular E-commerce platform, whose services are expanded in many tech innovations in this world. Amazon also provides its cloud services, which is known as a top trusted in the internet world. In 2021, Amazon also invited huge numbers of Crypto & blockchain talents to its blockchain team.

According to reports, Amazon is working to create blockchain gaming and NFTs related platforms and it may come to light in April of this year.

However Amazon didn’t announce this plan officially but in April 2022, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy talked about the future growth of the NFTs sector and also confirmed that the company may consider adopting Cryptocurrencies in the payment options in the future.

At that time Amazon’s CEO said:

“I expect NFTs will continue to grow very significantly. We’re not probably close to adding crypto as a payment mechanism in our retail business. But I do believe over time you’ll see crypto become and it’s possible … it’s possible down the road.”

The latest reports are unofficial but reports were published by trusted news media platforms, so here we can’t ignore this news as a rumour.

Earlier this, when Amazon published its Crypto & blockchain job application then at that time many reports claimed that Amazon was planning to accept Crypto payments but in reality, all that kind of news was based on speculations & rumours and later Amazon officially talked about such reports & confirmed that company has no such plans but surely the company will do study & research on Crypto & Blockchain technology.

It is worth noting that, over the last few months Amazon’s AWS introduced several features for the Crypto companies to show their presence in the web3-based internet innovations.

In mid-Jan 2023, the Ava Labs team confirmed that it established a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and also confirmed that it will help the web3 devs in the AVAX ecosystem to use Cloud services easily.

BBA or Bachelors in Business Administration is a 3-year undergraduate program in management that is quite popular with those looking to take the leap into management early in their careers. There are many specializations one can opt for in the course like Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc. However, most management institutes in Mumbai that offer a BBA course also have an entrance examination in place to vet the quality of students that get into their program.

Now you might be wondering how to tackle the problem of yet another exam. This article will guide you through that. But before we get into any serious tackling, let us look into what makes you eligible for a BBA course first.

Eligibility

The marks obtained in class 10+2 (Higher Secondary) are really important to get into a BBA programme at any college. As per AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) norms, eligibility for BBA course starts with securing at least 50% or more (45% for reserved categories) from a recognised board. Of course, different colleges have different cut-off marks for 12th board exams, so make sure you take note of the cutoff for the university of your choice.

Another thing that most colleges take into consideration is the marks you obtained in English in your higher secondary. Make sure it is above 60% just to be on the safe side. The next step is the BBA entrance exam itself. It has to be cleared following which you will be able to proceed with the admission process. Let us dissect the exam now so that we can come up with strategies to master it.

BBA Entrance Exam

The basic syllabus for any BBA entrance examination is made of four subjects or sections – English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Most of these exams also have an option for you to either attempt 100 questions in 120 minutes or 150 questions in 120 minutes. Do note that some entrance exams can go as long as 3 hours too, it all depends on the institution conducting it and its criteria.

Since all the questions are usually objective-type questions, speed is of the essence here. All the questions, especially in the math and English sections, should be from what you have already been made familiar with in school so it should not be a cause for concern. Candidates should brush up on their knowledge and skills in all four sections. Math should be a special focus since it can be time-consuming. Let us look into what strategies we can employ in our preparation for any BBA entrance examination.

Time Management

Time management is key in any BBA entrance exam since there are a lot of questions to be solved in a limited time. Speed is of the essence here. Try not to take more than a minute on a single question. Skip the ones you are not sure about since there will be negative markings for wrong answers. Try to learn Vedic math and other math tips and tricks that will help you get correct answers quicker than normal methods.

BBA

Basics First

Most questions come from what you have already studied before, so make sure to go back to the basics. Revise the necessary sections from old books of classes 9-12. Find out which sections you are strong at and which you aren’t. Then try to spend more time on the subjects you are weak at. Your strategy should be to train your weak spots while capitalizing on your strengths.

Practice

There is no alternative for practice. Practice math and logical reasoning problems daily for a fixed amount of time. Topics like HCF and LCM, square roots, mensuration, profit, and loss can be time-consuming, so try to bring down the time you require to solve them. Use a timer to track your progress over time if needed. Revise stuff like formulae, theorems, and concepts on a daily basis. Also, try to solve previous years’ papers and take plenty of mock tests.

Break it Down

Divide the amount of time you spend studying for each of the four sections on the basis of your strengths and weaknesses. It is also important to approach them differently. For English, you should solve comprehension exercises, brush up on your phrases and idioms, and revise basic grammar and vocabulary. Logical reasoning can be practised online or from previous years’ papers or mock tests. General awareness involves two areas – static GK and current affairs. While basic general knowledge can be brushed up from any source, it is a good idea to make a habit of reading newspapers and magazines to stay up to date with current affairs developments. We have already outlined the various methods to improve your math skills.

BBA Admission Process

After completing the entrance test, the rest of the process needed to get admission into a BBA course is pretty easy. Colleges usually conduct a personal interview after you qualify for the entrance examination. The final consideration is made after combining your academic performance in your 10th and 12th board exams, the marks you obtained in the entrance test, and the review of your personal interview.

Some colleges like UBS, one of the best BBA colleges in Maharashtra also provide BBA direct admission if certain criteria are met. These criteria differ from place to place so make sure to enquire about the college you end up choosing. Some colleges may require you to submit an SOP (Statement of Purpose) too. The rest of the process just involves submitting the required documents and waiting for the letter of approval.

To sum it up, BBA qualifications should not get your knickers in a twist if you have a good preparation strategy that you stick to on a regular basis. Once you figure out your strengths and weaknesses, and how to go about fixing the weaknesses, the rest of the preparation should just be down to revision and discipline. That’s all you need to do to prepare for any BBA entrance examination in any college in the country.
