This maybe the most anticipated blog post this season, lol. Well, it’s here! Harper’s fall wardrobe haul plus more from my favorite kid retailers. Back-to-school shopping always seems like the biggest haul – you need school outfits and then you have to account for all the different weather elements (especially here in Oregon). There’s big coats, warm boots, rain boots, beanies, gloves, it just seems like a lot. This year I sized up, so I’m hoping we can wear all of it through winter. I still need to order shoes and maybe a few more things, but for the most part, we’re ready to take on fall.

Shopbop’s Style Event is here! This is one of the best sales of the season. If you’re working on your fall wardrobe like me, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up a few things at up to 25% off! Shopbop also has super fast shipping (with Amazon Prime account) and free returns. I’m sharing what I own that’s part of the sale and more fall favorites below.

AGOLDE Charli Denim Jacket xs – This denim jacket is so comfy, soft, and drapes beautifully. Definitely has an oversized fit, so if you can, size down.

AGOLDE Riley jeans in Frequency 23 – This dark was is stunning! Not something you find a lot. I sized down. The full length actually hits me right at the ankle, but still deciding if I want this style to be more cropped (as seen in the photo).

DL1961 Hepburn jeans 23 – Ordered these during Shopbop’s last sale, ended up returning them, but just ordered them again. These were the jeans that got away, lol. These are insanely comfortable! And the length works on my 5ft frame.

Freedom Moses Slides 4/5 – I have 3 pairs of these now, sand, black, and stone. These are my favorite throw on and go sandals. They’re super comfortable and waterproof. Everyone needs these laying around the house.

AGOLDE Mid Rise Loose Jeans 23 – If you’re looking for a looser denim, these are great! Says mid rise, but definitely fits like high rise. I sized down and had to cut the hems, but the distressing lands right on my knees. These are a great loose denim option!

Naghedi Tote medium – The bag that has taken off. Everyone seems to have it now. Mine is black in the medium size and it’s the perfect size for an everyday bag. It fits so much, and it’s super durable, while still looking brand new.

Ancient Greek Sandals 35 – These are such a great pair of sandals! Take some wearing in, but the leather softens. This style of sandal elevates just about any basic outfit.

AGOLDE Riley Jeans in Curio 23 – These jeans are my absolute favorite! The perfect vintage wash and style. The wash is literally perfection!!! I sized down. The length works on petite frames. I didn’t have to cut the hems, which was such a nice surprise.

Janessa Leone Simone Hat in Black small – I wish I got the Simone hat in black sooner. It’s SOOO good. You can’t go wrong with Janessa Leone hats. If you’ve been eyeing one, get it on sale!

9 months, can you believe it! Wow, just wow. My little man is the absolute best and we just love him so much. He holds such a special place in my heart. Where I’m at in my life, career, parenthood, he just makes it all so much better. The way his smile lights up a room, how much he loves me, and how he giggles at everything Harper does. Ugh, he truly is the most special little guy.

We spent a week in Black Butte in August and it was our first road trip as a family of 4. It was such a great family trip, but tough on Cam (and mom at times). He was very clingy and had a severe case of stranger danger. But, I also felt for him – so many new faces and living in a strange place, so I get it. But yeah, he basically only wanted mom, so it was all very exhausting for me. He also wouldn’t nap for more than 40 minutes during the day. Thankfully, he slept through the night every night, so everyone was able to start fresh each morning. We did find out he HATES the Slumber Pod. He would cry the second we’d put him in his crib and then when we took it down, he went straight to sleep. I’m glad we know, but there goes our sleeping in the same room for future travel plans, lol. On a few of the longer car rides he wouldn’t fall asleep and became overtired and just cried and screamed. We eventually had to pull over and I would nurse him. This worked both times as he ended up falling asleep once we got on the road again. Just call me a human pacifier! Cam was a champ, though. Tagging along on such a big family trip isn’t easy, so I’m very proud of him.

New at 9 Months

Baby boy sits really well now. He’s still not crawling, but he’s getting on his knees and rocking back and forth. He wants to be mobile so bad, I can see him getting frustrated in some situations. He’s so close, he just needs to put his arms and legs together now, lol. His head shape has changed so much. He used to have such a round head but the sides have flattened, really making him look like a big boy. Sleeping on his tummy has really helped his flat head, too. Cam and Harper are playing so well these days and it’s the best to watch. She makes him laugh so much. He’s so vocal now, babbling, sometimes screaming from excitement, saying “dadadadada.” He wants to constantly walk around holding our hands. Ugh, he’s growing up so fast.

This man has never been consistent with naps and sometimes I just want to pull my hair out. I’m type A, so always trying to figure out a solution, etc. I think I find a way to get him to nap longer and then it all goes out the window the next week. Right now he’s taking 2 naps, the morning nap is always short 30-40mins and then the afternoon nap is typically about 1.5. I can work with this, but sometimes the 2nd nap is short as well. It’s not the end of the world because Cam is perfectly content when he’s awake, it’s just nice to be able to get something done and I know he needs that sleep. Short naps mean we push up bedtime, which isn’t the worst thing, but fellow moms get it, you want your baby to nap.

We officially have a great eater! If you remember, we introduced Cam to solids and he was crying or vomiting. I thought something could be wrong, but nope, he just wasn’t ready. We started back up again at 8 months and he ate everything up. I started with pureeing at home and then realized I couldn’t give him everything he needs/variety with my schedule. We ended up ordering YUMI and it has been the best! So much variety and so many ingredients I would have never used. There’s definitely flavors he doesn’t love, but for the most part, he loves it. He’s also an expert chewer out of nowhere (could it be perks of starting food at 8 months?), so we started giving him soft small foods. He’s still working on his pincer grasp, so we spoon feed or help him. We’re currently feeding him solids after the first 3 feedings (more on this in the schedule below). And now that he’s eating solids regularly, we’re doing 4 nursing sessions/day instead of 5.

Awake Time

We are officially between 3 and 3.5 hours of awake time during the day, which means more time to get out of the house, yay! Cam also got spoiled this summer by having his sister home to play with. She just went back to school, so I’m sure he’ll be missing her a bit in the mornings. But, little man is playing up a storm. He gets all the good toys way earlier than Harper ever did, lol (perks of having a big sis). We try to give him as much floor time as possible to tire himself out. We’ll go on walks, fun outings as a family. He loves bubbles and playing with balls (just like his sister). We recently put him in the Doona trike and he loves that.

Now that Cam is awake longer between naps and bedtime, he was getting a lot more tired during our feed right before bed. If I wasn’t paying attention I think he would doze off, which backfired because he would be wide awake by the time I put him to bed (he thought he got his sleep while we nursed) and cry quite a bit before falling asleep. He’s always gone to bed really well, so I was like what is going on.  Now that I put it all together, I’m now nursing him in a louder room (with Harper and Mike), so that he can stay awake during that last feed of the night. This has worked like a charm. He’s back to falling asleep right away at bedtime.

Eczema Update

Cam’s eczema is doing great! He had some flare ups on our trip to Black Butte (I’m guessing from the hot weather), but otherwise he’s doing great. We’re only using our concoction (more on this here) when necessary, otherwise it’s just Aquaphor after baths every other day.

Favorites at 9 Months

Toddlekind Floor Mat (color: clay) – We put the extra mats we had upstairs in the play room where Cam does a lot of his tummy time. Now that he’s more mobile, the mats have been awesome!

Halo Swaddle – This is the sleep sack we transitioned to. I like that it has sleeves and that it’s the most similar to the Merlin (in hopes for a smooth transition).

Stokke Steps High Chair – We used this high chair with Harper and continued to use it with Cam. We love it. It’s beautiful, well made, and has held up really well.

Nuna REVV Car Seat – We recently got this car seat and absolutely love it! The swivel feature to get Cam in and out of the car seat is a game changer!

Box with Tray Three Balls Montessori Toy – He loves the balls from this toy. They’re a great size where he can hold them, but can’t into his mouth.

We soaked up the final weeks of summer at Black Butte Ranch last month and I lived in breezy linen, swimwear and matching sets. Looking forward to transitioning my favorite summer pieces into fall with cardigans, blazers and fall footwear. Before we move into the rest of September, here’s my August outfit roundup. I’ve included all outfit details below (click on any image for products.)

Before we officially head into fall, I’m excited to round-up August’s bestsellers. This list is a combination of tried-and-true wardrobe staples that I’ve had for years, and new finds that I’ll be relying on for the summer-to-fall transition. Read on for details of everything — several of which are on sale!

Halogen Cap Sleeve Wrap Shirtdress xs – This is a great dress for the office. It is a little heavier, so keep that in mind. The xs also runs big, so I would say size down. Also comes in a beige color.

AGOLDE Riley Chewed Hem Denim 24- I’ve been loving this denim! It’s very soft, comfortable and fits TTS. The cropped length hits right at my ankle.

Sweaty Betty Explorer Zip Jacket small – This jacket runs more TTS, so I exchanged the small for an xs. Love a good set and these pair perfectly with the green leggings. A full zip with a large collar which I’m always a big fan of. Feels super nice on the skin.

Rag & Bone Rudy Nylon Liner Puffer Jacket xxs- I snagged this puffer jacket last season in green, and loved it so much I got it in black too. I love that is can be worn open or belted with the belt it comes in. Very flattering for petites and so versatile to style! Currently 50% off!

AGOLDE Dee Shorts 26- I love the length of these “longer” denim shorts. I’ve worn them all summer long and am looking forward to styling them for the summer-to-fall transition as well.

Caterina Bertini Woven Shoulder Bag– I’ve had this bag for several years now, and I’m so glad you all are loving her woven bags this season!

J.Crew V-Neck Cotton-Cashmere Cardigan xxs- The best petite-friendly cardigan at a great price point. I’ve washed it several times and it holds up incredibly well, too! Comes in a bunch of colors.

J.Crew Ella Sweater Blazer xxs- I’ve had this fall wardrobe staple for years now and still reach for it often! It’s back in new colors this season! I get asked a lot about how this fits. It’s definitely oversized even in the xxs. It has a good weight to it making it the perfect fall transitional piece.

Nuna Revv Rotating Convertible Carseat– We recently picked up this rotating car seat and it’s a game changer! Definitely worth the splurge!

Khaite Saratoga Boot– I recently snagged these boots on major sale and so glad so many of you did, too! There are a few sizes still available, and they also come in a black leather!

The summer-to-fall transition is one of my favorites when it comes to style. I love the fleeting weeks of getting a little more wear out of my favorite summer staples while mixing in fall layers — creating an entirely new vibe. Think blazers and shorts, sweaters and sandals, jeans and light layers. Today I’m rounding up my pre-fall favorites from Nordstrom and seven pre-fall outfit ideas if you’re in need of inspiration as the weather begins to cool down! Click through for full outfit details.

Special thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.

It’s still quite warm in the PNW right now, but I can’t help but look forward to fall fashion! One of my favorite parts about entering a new season is rediscovering some of your favorite wardrobe staples and styling them in new and exciting ways. Today I’m rounding up 10 pieces from my closet that I’m excited to re-wear this fall. Keep reading for all the details!

Manolo Blahnik Ballerimu Mules 36- These mules are a splurge, but I’ve reached for them so many times since I got them. They work in multiple seasons and can be dressed up or down. I love how they instantly elevate a simple, neutral look. I went up a full size!

& Other Stories Crewneck Sweater xs- I love an oversized stripe sweater and the fit of this one can’t be beaten! Looking forward to layering this wardrobe staple all season long.

Anine Bing Dylan Coat xxs- I snagged this coat last fall and love how versatile it is. Made from a wool/cashmere blend, it’s a timeless piece I’ll have for many seasons to come. It also has a removable belt. I went with a xxs and it still runs a little oversized.

Vagabond Shoemakers Boots 6- The perfect fall/winter black bootie! These pair so well with straight-leg jeans as the shaft is snug and high. The leather isn’t overly smooth or soft, so you can get a lot of wear out of these. I’ve even worn them in the rain and dirt and they’ve held up well.

Rag & Bone Puffer Jacket xxs- I snagged this puffer last fall and loved it so much I got it in two colors! I love that it can be worn tied with the belt or without, and it’s so easy to dress up or down. It’s currently on sale too!

Gap Split Leg Leggings petite 00- Really love these split-leg leggings! They can be dressed up or down, are really comfortable and are such a great price point. They come in several colors and are currently on sale!

Converse Chuck 70 Vintage Sneakers 5- I wore these sneakers on repeat last fall and I’m looking forward to styling them again this year for cooler temps. They instantly elevate a classic outfit and are the perfect comfortable/trendy option for moms on the go.

Madewell Straight Leg Jeans 23 – One of my favorite pairs of jeans right now and I love the straight fit! They’re not overly straight or overly big anywhere. They do have a very high rise, so something to note. I sized down.

AGOLDE Riley High Waist Denim 23 – I can’t stop wearing these jeans! The wash is PERFECTION — the perfect vintage color. After a wash and dry, they hit me at the perfect spot at the ankle (no hemming). They don’t have any stretch, but I found them to run big, so size down.

AYR Deep End Button Down xs- When it comes to the ultimate white button-down, it must be versatile, comfortable, and oversized — and this one from AYR checks every box! It’s such an elevated classic. I love that it’s 100% cotton, perfectly oversized, and features one large pocket.

I cannot believe Cam is 8 months! Time flies even faster with baby #2. Wasn’t he just born?! I think the best part about it all, I know this and I’m soaking in all the time with him. I really try to be as present as possible when we nurse. After he’s done nursing, I’ll burp him and we’ll just hang in the rocking chair. We’ll laugh, and I’ll give him a 100 kisses. Seeing those cheeks up close and smelling his neck is just the BEST. Mike and I tell each other everyday how great Cam is. I think it’s a mix of not knowing what to expect having another child and the way they’d make us feel, but also I really do think Cam is the BEST. He’s literally smiling all day long. He loves to play, he’s so observant, and so cuddly.

New at 8 Months

At 7 months Cam started to sleep on his tummy! He initially struggled with only being able to flip to his tummy and not back, but he’s much more comfortable on his belly now and actually prefers it to sleep. He sits! This is such a game changer. He has more freedom and so do his parents, lol. He’ll sit and play with toys for a good chunk of time. His awake time is 3hrs which makes our schedule so much better and flexible. We can actually get out of the house, lol. He’s also at a really good age that if he doesn’t sleep long when we’re on the go, he can still rally and be fine. He knows his name when you call him, he can reach out to you when you put your arms out to him, and he’s getting his two front bottom teeth! He’s been a drooly mess lately and a little more whiny and clingy towards mom, but other than that he’s been a happy boy through cutting teeth. Oh also, so much hair! Little man’s hair is getting thicker by the day, yay!

During month 7 Camden would be hit or miss with longer naps, so we’d have to throw in a catnap before bed occasionally. But, we’re currently doing a shorter nap in the morning (1 hour) and a longer nap in the afternoon (2 hours). We are officially down to 2 naps! After our trip to California in June we started to stress less about naps in general. Just because we were on the go and had to be flexible with his sleep.  Now at 8 months it finally feels like life doesn’t revolve around naps. We’re able to do more and if we’re out in the morning and he only gets a tiny nap in the car, we know he’ll sleep for his afternoon nap at home. He can handle himself much better with less sleep if we need him too if that makes sense.

We didn’t have the greatest start with solids. After my last update, we actually stopped trying and gave it a rest for a good month. He just was not interested, kept spitting out the food or crying. We were supposed to go see our pediatrician, but we were in the middle of getting a new doc, so we didn’t get a chance to go in. Cam recently started eating some purees, so I feel like wasn’t ready. This is all very new-to-me since Harper ate right away and we did BLW. We just started giving him some purees, so we’ll see how this goes. Crossing my fingers it was a ready thing versus something being wrong or allergies.

Since we haven’t been doing solids, I kept his 5 nursing sessions rather than going down to 4. We’re still exclusively nursing, which I don’t mind. There’s enough time between feedings now that I can get out and do things and I don’t feel as trapped.

Awake Time

8 months is such a fun age! Cam is sitting by himself, although we always have pillows or his boppy near him in case he falls or if we walk away from him. He can sit with a bin of toys and entertain himself for quite a while. He loves to play with his sister. Anything she does will entertain him. He cruises around in his walker. Harper will ride her indoor wooden bike and they’ll play a game of chase while he’s in his walker, it’s the cutest! We love to go on family walks. He’s currently getting used to the swing at the park. He’s on his belly quite a bit, but he hasn’t pulled his knees up yet to start the process of crawling… which if I’m being honest, is a blessing lol.

We are doing 3-3+ hours of awake time! I feel like that’s such a milestone. There’s so much more time to do things.

We are doing the same bedtime routine as always. Lately, he’s been whining in his crib before he falls asleep, which is a new thing. I’m wondering if he needs to be awake a little longer before bed to help with this. Little man is still sleeping through the night.

He flipped to his tummy sometime during month 7, so we officially have a tummy sleeper. This has been tremendous for his flat head. I would say his head shape overall has changed drastically, which we’re so happy about.

Eczema Update

Camden’s eczema is doing MUCH better. I do think the worst is behind us and still really hoping he will grow out of it. We are still using the concoction our Derm prescribed us (read more about that here), but very sparingly with flare ups. We are bathing every other day and using aquaphor daily. So, so thankful we got this under control.

Favorites at 8 Months

Joovy Spoon Walker – This is Harper’s old walker. We loved it with her and are loving it with Cam. It’s a great way to have him vertical without one of us always holding him. He hangs in this mainly during dinner. Having his toys propped on the tray has really helped his hand eye coordination. He’s officially jamming in this. PT said to make sure he has time just standing stationary it in, so we spend doing that too.

Toddlekind Floor Mat (color: clay) – We put the extra mats we had upstairs in the play room where Cam does a lot of his tummy time. Now that he’s more mobile, the mats have been awesome!

The Honest Company Diaper Rash Cream – Right when Cam’s eczema was super inflamed he also had severe diaper rash. Like the worse I’ve ever seen. Did some research, and this diaper rash came highly recommended. It took about 5 days, but his diaper rash cleared up. We’ve been using it ever since and he’s had the cleanest tush!

Halo Swaddle – This is the sleep sack we transitioned to. I like that it has sleeves and that it’s the most similar to the Merlin (in hopes for a smooth transition).

Boppy Nursing Pillow for Sitting – I haven’t used this for nursing since after the first couple of weeks of Camden being born, but we recently pulled it out to help with Cam’s sitting. He’s sitting on his own, but it’s the perfect shaped pillow to help if he does fall backwards.

Amazon Muslin Bibs – Cam’s a big drooler, so the cute bibs we have from H&M weren’t cutting it. We’re still using our white muslin ones we love for nursing and at home, but I wanted to find something cuter in neutral colors. I found these and they’re pretty substantial. The come in a pack, so I just donated the colors I didn’t love.

Rey to Z Baseball Caps – Absolutely love these little hats! You can get them with any letter or you can do them without. We have the Baby size for Cam and they fit really well.

Mushi Teether – This is Cam’s most preferred teether right now.

8 Month Schedule

6:30am – wakes and plays in crib
7:00 am – grab him, change, and nurse
7:30am – awake time, go for a walk, play.

Before we close out July, I wanted to round up my monthly outfits. It was a hot month in the PNW and I relied on easy sets, light layers, breezy dresses and lots of linen to stay cool and still feel put together. I’ve included all outfit details below (click on any image for products.) Enjoy!

Dress is Doen xxs (sold out)
Dress is Doen xs (sold out)
Dress is Doen (old)

Thanks to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, July’s bestsellers are a mix of summer and fall fashion finds- ha! But the Nordstrom products are still on sale through the end of the month and fully stocked! From my favorite pair of straight-leg jeans and versatile totes to white sweaters and easy dresses, this month’s top sellers are some of my favorite classic wardrobe staples. Read on for details of everything!

Rails smocked dress small – I tried this dress on earlier this year and knew I needed to size up. I’m wearing a small and would say it fits closer to an xs. Love this dress, it can easily transition from summer to fall. Lightweight and bra-friendly. Currently on sale!

Nordstrom Cable Crewneck Sweater small – I have been looking for a cream cable knit similar to my tan one for a while and love this one. I did size up, but it runs super big. I reordered the xs and there’s still room, but the fit is much better. So, I would say this runs TTS. The cable knit detail is so pretty! On sale!

Vince Crochet Cardigan xs – This cardigan is stunning, I love the crochet detail. I exchanged the xs for a medium since I like more room in my sweaters. You can wear it as a cardigan or button it up and wear it as a pullover sweater. On sale!

French Connection sweater xs – White sweaters are hard to find for fall and winter, so when I find a good one, I always snag it. The xs fits really well. This is a tunic style without being overly long (slits on the side). The arms run short and narrow, which I happen to like. One of the few sweaters I don’t have to roll the sleeves on. Love the details and mock neck, too. Comes in a few colors and on sale!

Allsaints Leather Tote– This tote is the same style as the woven style below, but much smaller. You can see it’s still a good size if you’re petite. The 2 strap option is why I love this bag so much. It’s a game changer, especially when you’re a mom. On sale!

Allsaints Woven Bag– Love this tote! Has short and long straps which is everything!!! Used it as my carry-on for our trip last month. Currently on sale!

Madewell Straight Leg Denim– 23 – One of my favorite pairs of jeans right now — and they’re part of the Nordstrom Sale! I love the straight fit! They’re not overly straight or overly big anywhere. They do have a very high rise, so something to note. I sized down.

BP Sunglasses– The BEST dupes! These are a designer dupe and I’m obsessed! I can’t recommend these enough and for only $15! Great for small faces, too!

Halogen Wrap Shirtdress xs – This is a great dress for the office. It is a little heavier, so keep that in mind. The xs also runs big, so I would say size down. Also comes in a beige color.

Vagabond Shoemakers Booties 6-  I snagged these during last year’s NAS and can officially say, I found the perfect fall/winter black bootie. These pair so well with straight-leg jeans as the shaft is snug and high. The leather isn’t overly smooth or soft, so you can get a lot of wear out of these. I’ve even worn them in the rain and dirt and they’ve held up well. On sale!
